Our Top Five Stops Along Nevada's Free-Range Art Highway
1. Reno Mural Tour
From Mid Town to Downtown, Reno has over 120 murals painted across the city. They are EVERYWHERE! We loved taking a long walk one morning to try to find as many as we could! And since this city is so stroller friendly, this is a great activity with kids!
2. Mizpah Hotel
This historic hotel located in the boomtown of Tonopah is a must see! Built in 1907 and beautifully restored to its original glory, the Mizpah feels like you’re stepping back into time. Not only does it have the swankiest bar around, it’s also apparently haunted - if you’re into that sort of thing ;)
3. International Car Forest of the Last Church
Located in Goldfield, this unique open air gallery is home to over 40 cars that are all works of art. Some cars are carefully stacked while others are shooting straight up out of the earth.
4. Rhyolite Ghost Town and Goldwell Open Air Museum
A little off the beaten track you’ll find Rhyolite, an old town abandoned over 100 years ago! Once home to 5,000 fortune seekers, now all that remains are a few buildings as far as the eye can see - it’s a sight to behold! On your way there, you can't miss the Goldwell Open Air Museum! You really can’t miss the ghostly life sized Last Supper and the giant 24ft miner!
5. Neon Museum
Where do all of those old retired neon signs from Las Vegas go? The Neon Museum of course! This stop is absolutely magical and a great stop for the whole family. Pro tip: try scheduling your visit at night to see the whole space LIGHT UP!
